Moving Prices and Estimates
We get a lot of questions asked in our forum about how much a move is going to cost. Every move is different, so there is not a quick, one-size-fits-all answer to this question. We do not put pricing into the forum as pricing does change due to seasonality and demand. The quickest way to get a the best moving quote is to fill out our quote form that is on each page of our website. We are the actual service provider and not a lead gatherer, so your information is safe with us! MovingplaceQuestion to MovingPlace
from Jessica L. in NY - Friday, October 28, 2022
Quote id: 73332 If quoted 8 ft of space but only need say 6 ft, or 7 ft, what would the difference in prices be?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Jessica, If you reply to the email that was sent with your quote, a relocation specialist can quickly give you the breakdown of pricing for different sized shipments. We don't have access to that here on the forum. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Kevin R. in MD - Friday, January 28, 2022
My son and his girlfriend are moving from Baltimore to a city just south of Denver, CO. Is there a company that can ship his stuff 2 bedrooms of stuff at most and his Jeep Cherokee? They plan on driving the Jeep across country and have there in law follow in a U-Haul truck which cost a fortune. It will be so much easier if they can ship stuff and car across country and take a flight with there dog- any suggestions?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Kevin, We may be able to save them some money with our You Load, We Drive service. We would bring a truck out to their home where they would load up their stuff. We would then transport it to Colorado and put it in front of their new home where they would unload it. It is an economical and easy solution. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace
from Susan M. in NE - Sunday, March 3, 2019
We will be moving to surprise Arizona on November 1st.. we are curious to an estimate for the move
MovingPlace Response
Hi Susan, We need more information to be able to provide quotes. And we don't put pricing on the Q&A section of the website simply because the prices fluctuate with fuel costs and time of year, so pricing quickly becomes out of date. If you will fill out our quote form on our homepage, we will quickly email the pricing requested. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

I have a truck and a small apartment that I want to move from Connecticut to Florida in September. When should I do apply for quote thanks
MovingPlace Response
Hi Robert, We can accurately price and guarantee rates for your move up 60 days in advance. We have a pretty good idea of what we will be charging in September and can give you a good idea, but there are too many variables with fuel pricing, economy, etc to lock down pricing more than 60 days out. Question to MovingPlace
from Gracie P. in AZ - Tuesday, October 2, 2018
Can I ship my car and my personal items together? I don't have any big furniture except my TVs, just clothes, shoes, etc. I'm moving from phoenix to Milwaukee.
MovingPlace Response
Hi Gracie, We can ship your car and furniture at the same time, but not on the same truck. If you want to ship your car and furniture on the same moving van, you would need to rent an entire 53 foot tractor trailer from us. By shipping your furniture in a small compartment on the moving van and your car on an auto-transporter (the big trucks that haul 8 or 9 cars at a time), you can save a lot of money - and we will coordinate everything for you so that it is convenient. Question to MovingPlace
from wendy w. in TX - Saturday, September 22, 2018
How much would it cost to move furniture and SUV from Los angles California to Elfin Texas
MovingPlace Response
Hi Wendy, We can certainly help you with moving your car and furniture across country. However, we do not put pricing for moves in our Q&A because the rates fluctuate based on fuel costs, time of year, etc. If you fill out one of our quote forms and put the make and model of the car or SUV in the comments section, one of our relocation specialists will put together some rates and email them to you. Or, if you would like an immediate quote, give us a call at 800-876-6839 and we can help you right away. Thanks! Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace
from Doreen G. in NY - Thursday, August 30, 2018
I need to move about 15 boxes and my 2013 Chevy Cruz from Manhattan, KS to Altamonte springs Florida can you give me a quote?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Doreen, We get this type of question a lot. We are a great option for your car shipping every time. We are a great option when you have a whole house or apartment to move. However, for the smaller shipments of just boxes or luggage, it is much more economical to ship them via UPS than to pay for a moving truck to come to your home for you to load and unload. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from paul c. in CA - Thursday, August 30, 2018
We are moving from ca to fl we have a house full of stuff and 3 cars. Is this something we can do?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Paul, We actually specialize in larger moves that have cars to move as well. We can arrange a moving truck to come to you home for up to 3 days for you to load. The cars will be picked up on one of the large auto transporters (tractor trailers that haul 7 or 8 cars at a time). We can arrange for all of this to happen about the same time and will handle all of the logistics so you don't have a thing to worry about. If you have not already, please fill out the quote form on our site and we will email pricing to you asap. Please put the makes and models of the cars in the comments section so that we can price them correctly. Thanks! Movingplace

I need to move furniture and belongings as well as my Van to Cleveland. And do you provide a transportation for my self and my daughter to Cleveland ?

Hi Cheryl, We can certainly help you move your van and furniture to Cleveland, however, for liability (and licensing) purposes, we do not have any options for customers to ride in the moving trucks. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Alfredo S. in NY - Monday, March 26, 2018
I have one bedroom furniture that needs to be moved to Lorain Ohio and I also have a Toyota Avalon the year is a 2000 can we get that moved as soon as possible
MovingPlace Response
Hi Alfredo, We can usually handle any shipment with 48 hours' notice. For shipping your car and furniture, it will be most economical to split the shipment and put the household goods on a moving truck and the car on an auto transporter. We will email over rates for both. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Ann A. in CA - Friday, March 16, 2018
We need to move a car from Southern California to central Florida, but will be driving our motorhome at the same time and anticipate the car arriving a few days before we do. Do you arrange storage for the car until it can be picked up at the destination? If you don’t what would you suggest we do. We do not have family or friends in the state that can accept the car when it arrives. Thanks!
MovingPlace Response
Hi Ann, For a household goods shipment, we can hold it on the moving truck at the destination terminal until you arrive (there are storage fees, but they are very reasonable). Cars need to be delivered as we do not have storage options for them. Anyone can accept the car on your behalf and the driver will be unloading it. So you can have it left at a business or in the driveway at your new home as long as someone is there to sign for it and accept the keys. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from James G. in NY - Thursday, March 15, 2018
Hi...I am moving from NY to Palm Beach County FL on April 6th...I have a 2013 turbo beetle with 19 inch tires plus about 7 medium shipping boxes....how much?
MovingPlace Response
Hi James, We can certainly help you with moving your car. The cars have to be empty when they are moved, so the boxes will need to go on a moving truck. Our recommendation is to ship the car with us and the boxes via UPS. That is going to be the most cost-effective way of handling your order. If you had furniture and a load to go, then one of our moving trucks would be the best option. We see that you filled out a quote form and will be emailing you rates. Thanks! Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Erica C. in CA - Tuesday, March 6, 2018
Hi, I’m moving from San Diego CA 92114 to Newport News, VA 23605. I’m looking for quotes that wouldn’t break my pocket for this move. The time frame will be near the end of the month to be gone. MovingPlace Response
Hi Erica, Our pricing has some fluctuations based on demand and timing, so we do not put prices on the forum. We can certainly help you with moving your car and furniture and have already emailed pricing to the email that you provided. Please let us know if we can help in any way. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace
from Allison C. in FL - Tuesday, January 30, 2018
Hello, I am going to be moving out of Florida and to California around the 15th of February. I have a small amount of boxes and furniture and a 2006 Scion TC with expired plates and the wheels are not in the best of condition (however it is drivable). What I'm most worried about is my car - will those issues keep it from being able to moved? Also what is you suggestion for best moving my stuff? Thanks much.
MovingPlace Response
Hi Allison, We can certainly help you with moving your car and household items. We will get you a moving truck for your household (you will do the loading and unloading). For the car, as long as it is operable, we will transport it on an auto transporter (the big trucks that haul 8 or 9 cars at a time). For cars, the driver will do the loading, unloading, and securing of the vehicle... so you don't have anything to worry about with that other than handing the driver the keys! :-) Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Shawna H. in FL - Thursday, January 18, 2018
We are moving from Port Orange, Florida to Tucson, Arizona. We have a 3 bedroom house full of furniture plus two vehicles...a Chevy Colorado and a Chevy Malibu. Is it possible to ship everything (safe and secure) together? And what is the insurance like?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Shawna, Yes, you could rent a full 53ft tractor trailer from us and load everything on the same moving van to travel together. For others reading this, shipping the car and furniture together on the same moving truck is only available if you order the entire truck. To request a quote for this, select "53ft Tractor Trailer" as the size on the drop down menu on the quote form and then put the make and models of the car in the comments section. We have several coverage options available, depending on your moving needs. Please contact us at 800-876-6839 and one of our moving consultants will be able to price this for you. Thanks! Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Peter S. in OH - Thursday, January 18, 2018
Hi: I may be a bit premuture on this question, but we will need to move a car, small (Vespa-Scooter) and some boxes and furniture in fall from Cleveland to Lake Nona Florida. Is this something you do? Also, Im a bit nervous about putting the car on an open transporter, as its a collectable auto. I would guess the amount of furniture and boxes is probably 10' x 10' Thanks. Peter
MovingPlace Response
Hi Peter, That is exactly what we do! For your collectible car, we can get an enclosed auto-transport for you. It is a little more expensive, but will ensure safe transit with no exposure to the elements. Cars are insured in transit as well. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

Do you move vehicle (2018 Chevy Equinox) plus household items. I will be moving from Buffalo NY to Fort Worth TX. I do not have many household furnishings to take with me. Primary furniture will be a full bedroom set, a small entertainment center, 42" tv, a bistro 2 chair patio set and then just boxes of kitchen/bath items & clothes/shoes.
MovingPlace Response
Hi Sharon, Absolutely! We specialize in moving cars and furniture. We would put your car on one of the big auto transporters (the trucks you see on the highway hauling 8 or 9 cars at a time) and get you a small space on one of our cross country moving trucks. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace
from Nycole H. in OR - Tuesday, December 19, 2017
Hello, My husband and I are moving from Oregon to Michigan. I have a 1985 GMC 2500 pick-up, with standard tires and a body lift (3"). Is this a vehicle that can be transported?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Nycole, We can transport modified cars (in your case, a modified truck). We would need to use a specialized transporter to accommodate the body lift, so there will be limited availability (meaning we will need flexibility on when it is picked up). Please give us a call at 800-876-6839 for pricing and to go over the details of transporting your car and furniture. Thanks! Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace
from Cindy G. in MO - Tuesday, November 14, 2017
will someone be able to help make sure the car is loaded on properly? I assume so, but just asking.
MovingPlace Response
Hi Cindy, When we ship a car on an auto transporter (the big tractor trailers that haul several cars at the same time), we ship them full service; meaning that the driver is going to load, unload, and secure the vehicle. Our household goods moving is all self-service (customer load and unload, we provide the truck and driver). Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Cindy G. in MO - Tuesday, November 14, 2017
Do you transport house items with the car at the same time and is it a direct route, thank you
MovingPlace Response
Hi Cindy, We can set up the schedules for your car and household shipping so that they are picking up and dropping off at about the same time. There will be two different trucks involved (one for household and one for the car shipment), so it won't be at exactly the same time. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace
from Howard W. in CA - Saturday, August 5, 2017
My parents would like to have their car transported from California to Michigan. They have some boxes that they would like to be transported with the car. Boxes are generally light and likely less than 200 lbs total weight. Is it possible to find a carrier who would be able to transport the car with the boxes inside? The car is a 2004 Subaru Forrester. Going from zip code 94086 to 48230. Probably in late August or early September.
MovingPlace Response
Hello Howard, When moving a car and furniture, you can rent an entire moving van to load both the car and the furniture. That is the only way to move everything together. Cars must be empty when they are put onto auto transporters. Your best option would be to UPS your boxes and ship your car with us on an auto transporter. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from nkechi a. in TX - Friday, July 21, 2017
how much will it cost to move a Mitsubishi outlander sport and 2 room furniture from Fort Worth TX to Rochester NY
MovingPlace Response
Hi Nkechi, We would recommend moving your car and furniture on separate trucks to keep the cost down. We can move them both on the same moving truck, but the moving truck services are more expensive and the car would be overpriced to do so. Please put the make and model of the car to be moved in the quote form comments box and we will be happy to email pricing to you. Or, for faster service, please give us a call at 800-876-6839. Hello! I would like to know what you suggest for moving on August 31 from a 2 bedroom apartment, dining room and living room included, along with one car from Chicago to Las Vegas. All furniture and items will be stored in storage space there. Thank you! Carolyn
MovingPlace Response
Hi Carolyn, I would suggest that you use us! Lol. We could bring out a truck into which you would load your 2 bedroom apartment. We would transport it to Las Vegas where you would unload it. The car would be shipped on an auto transporter (one of the big tractor trailers that hauls 8 or 9 cars at a time). That is a full-service only option, meaning that the driver is going to load, unload, and secure the car on the moving truck. You just give him the keys and he does the rest. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace
from Linda S. in FL - Wednesday, May 17, 2017
We are moving from Tallahassee FL to Anaheim CA. I would like to ship my Smart car and furniture and boxes for about 0.5-1 room. Would we be able to put everything into one container? About how much would it cost? Or would it be cheaper to ship the car and furniture separately? Thank you for your help, Linda
MovingPlace Response
Hi Linda, It may seem counter-intuitive, but shipping your car on an auto transporter and your furniture in a moving van (separating the two) is actually cheaper than putting them all on one moving van. The cars can be moved rather inexpensively on an auto transporter and that offsets the added expense of putting it on a moving van. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Matt L. in FL - Tuesday, May 9, 2017
I want to move to Seattle and I have two cars and some personal stuff but not a whole lot of furniture. Can I put my stuff inside the car?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Matt, We get this question a lot. When moving a car and furniture, we put the household items on one moving van and the car on an auto transporter. Cars that are moved on auto transporters must be completely empty. We will get you plenty of space inside the moving van so that you do not need to load the car down. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from David B. in NV - Saturday, May 6, 2017
I have 2 vehicles and a 3 bedroom house to ship from Dayton NV to Hamilton OH. What would be the best option for me? Thanks
MovingPlace Response
Hi David, To move your cars and furniture, we would recommend you splitting your shipment up into two parts to save money. The cars will ship on an auto transporter (the big trucks that haul 7 or 8 cars at a time) and the furniture will move on a big moving truck. You can put the car and furniture on the same moving van, but the cost is really high, so we recommend moving them separately. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Joette C. in TX - Saturday, April 29, 2017
How quickly would I receive my car and furniture?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Joette, The transit time for moving your furniture and car will vary based on how far you are moving. A general rule of thumb is that the moving trucks will travel 400 miles per day on average. When you book your move, we will not only schedule the pickup, but also the delivery! We take the guesswork out of moving. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from DON T. in CA - Thursday, April 27, 2017
I have read most of the questions. I understand that when you ship cars you can not have anything in them. Does that go for two cars shipped in closed transporters? I have tools to take for my old classic car and want to put them inside the car. thanks, Don
MovingPlace Response
Hi Don, That goes for enclosed as well. There are liability issues with us shipping anything inside the cars. This is pretty much a universal rule in the industry that cars must be shipped empty. We recommend boxing your tools and sending them UPS Ground freight. That is the cheapest way to send boxes. Shipping parcels with UPS is expensive, but you can get good pricing from them on regular-sized boxes being shipped ground freight. It is a different system than the high-priced parcel service. from margaret r. in NY - Tuesday, April 11, 2017
I am moving from Scarsdale NY to Denver Colorado.. I have a jeep, clothes, hockey bag and golf clubs. No furniture..Best way to ship items?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Margaret, We would suggest moving the car on one of our auto transporters (the big trucks that haul 7 or 8 cars at a time) and then shipping your smaller items via UPS... from Sam J. in TX - Monday, March 27, 2017
Hi, I am moving from texas to california, I have to move my car small honda and my personal belongings. Will you be able to help and what will be the price? Thanks
MovingPlace Response
Hi Sam, Yes we can move your car and furniture. As we have mentioned in other posts, the best way to do this kind of move is to put all of your personal household items in a moving van and ship the car on one of our auto transporters ( the big moving trucks that haul 7 or 8 cars at a time). We can arrange for this to all happen at basically the same time and still save you a lot of money. For a quote, please fill out the quote form on this page or give us a call at 800-876-6839. Question to MovingPlace
from Morgan P. in MD - Tuesday, March 21, 2017
I'm moving a Acura XLS and 1 bedroom amount of belongings from MD to CA. Will it be possible to load my belongings in my car when it is transported?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Morgan, It is industry-standard for cars to be empty when they are being shipped. Your furniture and household items can go inside the moving van, but nothing can be inside the car. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Avis G. in CO - Tuesday, March 21, 2017
I need to move approximately 380 cubic feet of household goods from Longmont Colorado to Clearwater Florida. I also have a car to be towed. It is a 2007 Toyota Corolla. Do you do this? If not, what would it cost for the goods only?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Avis, We are one of the only places that can move your car and your furniture. We would not actually tow your car behind the moving van. Instead, we would put it on one of the big auto transporter trucks (the kind that haul 7 or 8 cars at a time). We could arrange for the pick up and delivery of your household goods to happen at approximately the same time. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace

Question to MovingPlace
from anstin a. in PA - Sunday, February 26, 2017
I will be moving from Central PA (Danville) to Seattle on April 2nd half 2017. Mine is a 2 room apartment and have one SUV. Do you provide truck and driver?.
MovingPlace Response
Yes Anstin, We provide the moving truck, fuel, driver, and door to door transportation. For a move like yours where you are moving a car and your furniture, we will put the car on an auto transporter and the household goods will go on a moving van. That is the most inexpensive and efficient way to handle it. We can have everything picked up and delivered at about the same time. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Tammy M. in FL - Friday, February 10, 2017
I want to move a studio apartment as well as a 1994 gmc jimmy truck together. Is this possible and what issues the approx. fee?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Tammy, We can move your car and furniture together on the same truck, however, you would need to rent the entire tractor-trailer to do that. It financially only works if you have a large household to move at the same time. The most economical way to handle a small shipment and a car is to put the household on our moving truck and the car on an auto transporter. We can make this happen in basically the same time frame, so there should not be an inconvenience... and you will save a whole lot of money on you overall move. Movingplace

Hi Dawn, When moving your car and furniture, we will give you great pricing for both. We give you the best prices right up front, so there is no room to lower them by bundling them together. Movingplace

i would like to move my car which is a 2002 Buick Park Avenue and my belongings which are equivalent to a 1bdrm apt. I want to know is it possible to transport my car and belongings at the same time together. Im moving from Riverdale Ga to Dowagiac MI
MovingPlace Response
Hi Sasha, We can move your car and furniture at the same time, but for a shipment as small as yours, it would not be on the same moving truck. We would ship your car on an auto transporter (the big trucks that hold 7 or 8 cars at a time) and your household goods on a moving van. Movingplace

Um I won't be moving for a while but I like knowing things ahead of time. How much would it cost to move one small sedan, and one room worth of furniture from Ohio to California?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Bryanna, It usually takes about 6 days to move your car and furniture from Ohio to California. If we ship the car on an auto transporter (one of the big moving trucks that carries 7 or 8 cars at a time), it might arrive in as little as 5 days. Please let call our offices at 800-876-6839 and we can check to see scheduling for the exact towns/cities that you are moving from and to. Movingplace

I want to know a quote for shipping household goods and a vehicle from California to Georgia. I have 3 bedrooms of furniture to go along with the car.
MovingPlace Response
Hi Alex, We can certainly help you. Long distance, cross country moving is our specialty.. as is moving cars and furniture. We can get you pricing for shipping the household goods on a moving van and the car on an auto transporter., Or, if you have a whole house to move, we can price everything to go on full 53 foot moving truck. My son has to move back home from Boise ID to Ohio all his belongings (and a couple of small pieces of furniture) can fit in the back of his car, could you move the car loaded with hi person stuff He will be moving January or feb 2017

Hi Patty, Cars must be empty when they are moved. We can get pricing for a small shipment of household items and price the car separately to get you the best bang for your buck. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Octavia J. in FL - Thursday, November 17, 2016
From my understanding a car needs to be completely empty for transport and if you need to move a car and other things get the tractor trailer, but my car is full of clothes and shoes no furniture. How can I get my car and personal items like my clothes and shoes home? I'm not moving any furniture.
MovingPlace Response
If you do not have any furniture and need to ship your car, you will need to box up the stuff in the car and send it via UPS or the USPS. Whenever a car is shipped on an auto transporter, the car must be empty, both for security and safety purposes. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from breanna s. in FL - Sunday, October 30, 2016
I will be moving from jacksonville fl to san diego in a few months. I was wondering if you had anything available to ship home furniture as well as a vehicle in the same trip. Also a round about fee you charge for this type of move.
MovingPlace Response
Hi Breanna, Moving your car and furniture on the same moving van only works if you rent and entire tractor trailer and load everything onto the same truck. If you have a LOT of furniture and household items, this is definitely the way to go. We find, however, that a lot of customers only need a small amount of space on a moving van. If that is your case, it is much cheaper for us to move the furniture on a moving van and the car on an auto transporter. Please give us a call at 800-876-6839 and we can get pricing both ways for you. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Sharon F. in OH - Friday, October 28, 2016
I have a few furniture items I need moved to Florida. I also want to move my car with furniture. Do you have anything smaller than a 53 ft trailer you can use
MovingPlace Response
Yes we do. We have moving trucks available that are 28ft long, 8.5ft wide, and 9ft tall (interior dimensions). We break those trucks down into smaller compartments using movable walls. If we use the smaller trucks, then your car would need to go on a separate auto transporter that we would provide. We can coordinate with you to have all of your stuff arrive at about the same time. Please give us a call and we can go over all of the details with you and get you pricing for the different options. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from janet h. in PA - Tuesday, October 25, 2016
How long will it take to move a car furniture from downingtown, pa to Sedona, AZ? I will need them moved at the same time and delivered at the same time. Thanks.
MovingPlace Response
Hi Janet, When moving your car and furniture, there are a couple of things to consider when figuring out how to get them to arrive at the same time. Generally speaking, the cars are shipped on auto transporters and will arrive a couple of days faster than the moving vans. The only way to ship everything on the same day and have it arrive on the same day is to rent a full 53ft moving van and load everything onto one truck. We can certainly help you with this, but unless you have a large load of household goods to fill out the space, you will be wasting money on renting the whole truck. We can price this both ways for you. Please just indicate that in the comments section when you fill out the quote form at the top of this page. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace
from Alex V. in GA - Friday, September 23, 2016
Do you offer car and furniture shipping all in one?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Alex, Yes. If you want to ship your car and furniture on the same truck, you would need to order a full 53ft tractor trailer. If you have a large household move, this makes the most sense financially. If you only have a small amount of furniture to move, the best pricing by far is to ship the car on an auto transporter and the furniture on a moving truck. Movingplace

MovingPlace Response
Hi Dominic, There are a couple of ways to move your cars and furniture. Question to MovingPlace
from Olivia T. in GA - Saturday, September 10, 2016
How long will it take to move a car and a truck with furniture from Atlanta, GA to Salt Lake City, UT? I will need them moved at the same time and delivered at the same time. Thanks.
MovingPlace Response
Hi Olivia, Transit time to Salt Lake City is approximately 6 days. If you want to have your car and furniture picked up and delivered at the same time, they would need to go on the same moving van. This is the most expensive way to ship your car. I would recommend checking our option of moving the household on the moving truck and the car on an auto transporter. The car will actually get there a little quicker than the household goods. We would be happy to quote you prices both ways so that you can decide if it is worth the extra money. :-) Movingplace

We are moving from South Plainfield New Jersey to Tampa Florida We have an SUV ,,,2 seat convertible ,,and a Jerp wrangler We also have two wave runners I was wondering if we could fill the cars up with boxes We also need a truck to move one king size bedroom set a small fireplace A full size mattress and a king size mattress and a lot of bins filled with items from our home Could you please give me a quote Thank You
MovingPlace Response
HI Carol, There are a couple of way to move your car and furniture as well as your wave runners. I would put the wave runners inside a moving van along with your furniture and boxes, and then ship the cars one of our auto transporters. Loading the cars into the moving van would not make financial sense as the moving vans are much more expensive than the auto transport. The cars have to be empty when you move them, but if you are already getting a moving van for the furniture and wave runners, you can just put the boxes inside with the other items. Thanks! Question to MovingPlace
from Oliver S. in MD - Thursday, July 28, 2016
Hi, I'm an active duty military personnel and recently PCS from CA to MD. I need to move about 1 bedroom of furniture and my car (Hyundai Sonata). I'm currently residing in MD per my duty, could my family back in CA sign or arrange the shipping on my behalf. Additionally, please send me a quote. The dates I would like to ship are between August 1 to 20. Thank you.
MovingPlace Response
Yes Oliver, we can move your car and furniture from CA to MD. If you need weight tickets for military reimbursement, we can arrange for that as well. To have someone else sign for and load your goods in CA, you would just need to give us a release with them named as your designee for that move. If you give us a call at 800-876-6839, we can get all of the details worked out. Thanks! Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Tari S. in OH - Saturday, July 23, 2016
My daughter is planning to move back to Shaker Heights, OH (Cleveland) from Torrance, CA She has a few pieces of furniture (Chair and ottoman, bookshelf) and about 10 boxes - books, miscellaneous, clothes. She also has a 2007 Toyota Yaris Manual shift that she would like to ship as well. How can this be done in the least expensive manner, with the least amount of problems?! What kind of pricing would this entail? Thanks. Tari
MovingPlace Response
Hi Tari, We get this question a lot. The best way to move a small amount of furniture and a car is to split the shipment. We should put the household items on a moving van and then ship the car on an auto transporter. We can arrange for all of this to happen about the same time and it is the safest way to ship everything. Movingplace

Can I move 1bedroom,am. Sofa 1chair,2flat screens extra q mattress set and personal boxes plus have my Honda Fit towed behind moving van? If so I need a quote. From oh to Clearwater fl
MovingPlace Response
Hi Cassandra, Kind of... We can move your car and furniture, but we do not tow the cars behind the moving vans. The cars are normally shipped on the big auto transporters (trucks that you see driving around with 8 or 9 cars loaded on them). The household goods would go on a separate moving van. If you would like a quote, you can either fill out the form on this page (we move people, we won't sell your information) or you can give us a call at 800-876-6839. Thanks! Movingplace

MovingPlace Response
It depends on where you are moving from and to. We can certainly price it both ways for you and see which option best fits your needs and your budget. Question to MovingPlace
from Christopher H. in CA - Tuesday, June 28, 2016
I'm going to be moving from San Diego to lakeland Florida, with one car and a one bedroom apartment of furniture without any major appliances, and not heavily furnished. Is it possible to have the car and household goods shipped together at all? If so, or even if separately, is there any estimate in a long move like so?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Christopher, We can ship your car and furniture at the same time. If you would like them to be shipped on the same moving truck, you would need to rent the entire moving van. With just a one bedroom apartment of furniture like you have listed above, this would not be economical at all. If you give us a call at 800-876-6839, we can price it both ways for you so that you can decide if you think it is worth the extra money to ship your car and furniture on the same truck. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace
from deyanna l. in WA - Sunday, June 12, 2016
Hi, I have a friend that is going to be moving from Seattle, WA to Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is trying to take everything down at once. He has a 2008 Mustang car to move along with furniture consisting of a 4pc bedroom set, 3 person dining table, 2 TV's, and a sectional. Is this all possible to get on one moving truck, if so how much would that be?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Deyanna, Yes you can move your car and furniture on the same moving truck, but the only way to do that is to rent the entire giant moving van. This works if you have a lot more furniture to move than you have listed above. Our recommendation is to let us split the shipment for you, moving the car on an auto transporter and the furniture on a moving van. They will pick up and deliver at basically the same time and save you a whole lot of money doing it that way. Movingplace

Hi J, The most economical way to move your SUV and furniture would be to split the shipment in two. It will be much cheaper to put your SUV on an auto transporter and then put your household goods onto one of the moving trucks that we provide. We can arrange to have your car and furniture picked up and delivered at approximately the same time, so it will be convenient and inexpensive! Movingplace

MovingPlace Response
Depending on how large your 3 bedroom house is (and how heavily furnished) will determine whether or not we should move your car and furniture on the same moving truck or whether we should put the furniture on the moving truck and the car on an auto transport. Please call our office at 800-876-6839 and we can discuss options. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Rakesh M. in IL - Friday, May 20, 2016
Hi, I need to move a car (Mustang 2012), a queen bed, a TV, two small tables and some small boxes from Bloomington IL (61704) to Hartford CT (06183). I am thinking of moving all these through same transport. Can you please suggest what would be the better way?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Rakesh, If you want to move your car and furniture on the same moving truck, you have to rent the entire moving van to make it work. With smaller shipments like yours, we recommend using our moving truck for the furniture and household items, and then letting us set up an auto transporter to haul your car. We can have them pick up and drop off at approximately the same time, so it will not be any less convenient, but it will be a lot less expensive. Movingplace

No living room furniture or dining table. You can reach me at *******(redacted for security)@aol.com Thank you, Ms. Kelly B--------
MovingPlace Response
Hi Kelly, The best way (cheapest) to move your car and furniture is going to be to put your car on an auto transporter and you household items on a moving truck. If you put the furniture and car on the same moving van, you have to rent an entire 53ft tractor trailer and that will not make financial sense for your move. I see that you filled out our moving quote request form. One of our relocation specialists will be reaching out to help you with some rates. Thanks! Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace

Hi, I'm looking to move the first weekend of June. I have a chrysler 300 car and a 2 BR apartment. One king and queen bed. One small dresser. Couch with chase, loveseat. Small dining room table, L shaped desk and cabinet. Then some boxes/tubs on top of that. 1 person apartment. I'll be moving from 95008 bay area to 48183 South of Detroit. I'm currently looking at renting a truck and towing my car, but if it around the same price i'd rather just ship and fly home, or ship my stuff and drive just the car. What do you suggest?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Daniel, We should definitely get prices for moving your car and furniture. I would suggest that you ship the furniture on a moving truck and the car on an auto transporter. We can arrange for those to be picked up and delivered at about the same time. That will be the most cost efficient way to to move your stuff. I have heard that rental trucks out of California are ridiculously expensive. We might be able to provide you with a good alternative to that rental truck. Movingplace

Hi Danielle, When moving your car, it must be empty for safety and security reasons. If you don't have much stuff to ship, we recommend going to the UPS store and shipping it. Question to MovingPlace

Hello, My daughter is moving from Lynn, MA (zip 01904) to Madison, Wisconsin (zip 53719) for a new job that is slated to begin on 6/6/16. We plan to leave Boston on 5/27. She needs to ship a car (subaru wagon) a 4 person dining room set, a queen bedroom set, a couch and some other miscellaneous furniture and clothing. Could you give me a guesstimate on cost, and when the car and furniture, etc. would need to leave boston to arrive either on the 28th, 29th, or 30th of May? Thanks
MovingPlace Response
Hi Jane, This is exactly the type of move that we do best. We can move your daughter's car and furniture. I would not recommend moving the car and furniture on the same truck in this instance because you would need to rent the whole moving van to do this, and it would not be economical to do so. I see that you have already filled out one of our quote forms to get an estimate. One of our relocation specialists will email you shortly with prices for your move (if they have not already done so). Thanks! Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace

I am downsizing from a 4 bed house and moving across country (Philly to Newport Beach). I most likely may only move 2 beds rooms, 2 sofas, 2 chairs and a small amount (half a pickup truck load) of household items. I also want to move a car. It would be great for it all to arrive at the same time but looking for ideas. Thanks.
MovingPlace Response
Hi Sig, We can certainly help you. As I mentioned on a previous blog, it is probably best to ship the car and furniture separately to minimize expense. You are teetering right on the edge of it making sense to rent the entire moving van and put everything on the same truck. If you will give us a call at 800-876-6839, we will give you pricing both ways - with the car and furniture on the same moving van and with the car going on an auto transporter (at the same time, but on different trucks). I am moving my 2 bedroom household from Sacramento, CA to Kalamazoo, MI, I have furniture, a car, and 6 large in house trees. Whats the best way to move all this?
MovingPlace Response
If you only have a small amount of furniture to move along with a car, it makes the most financial sense to split the shipment. By that we mean moving the car on and auto transporter and then moving the furniture on a moving truck. We can coordinate both of those things to happen at the same time so you are not inconvenienced. You would only want to move the car and furniture on the same moving van if you have enough furniture and household items to warrant renting an entire tractor-trailer and putting everything in one truck. from Tara M. in IN - Thursday, April 7, 2016
How much would it cost to move 2 cars a motorcycle and living room and a dining room table and miscellaneous bedroom furniture and items such as clothing and tvs
MovingPlace Response
Hi Tara, When you have multiple cars and furniture to move, we should price it two ways. First, we should look at moving your car and furniture on the same moving van. Second, we should look at shipping the furniture on a moving truck and the cars on an auto transporter. Depending on where you are moving from and to will dictate which option will be cheapest. Question to MovingPlace
from Renate K. in NY - Friday, April 1, 2016
Trying to relocate from Farmingville, NY 11738 to San Antonio Texas 78254 need to move two cars and entire contents of 4 bedroom home. What is the approximate cost and how long until items arrive once picked up?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Renate, This would be a good move for a 53ft moving van. We can move your cars and furniture on the same truck when we you order one of those. The big vans also come with pads, straps, and a dolly. Please give us a call or fill out our online quote form and we will get you pricing asap. We do not post prices on the forum because they vary depending on time of year and locations. Thanks! Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from chelsea s. in WA - Friday, March 25, 2016
Hi Moving Place, I am moving from Washington state to South Carolina and would like a quote on my move. I would like to move my car which is a 4 door sedan as well as my bed frame, mattress, box spring, dresser, some other small furniture and a few boxes. Is this possible to move all together? How much will this is all cost me? Thanks
MovingPlace Response
Hi Chelsea, We get this question a lot. When moving your car and furniture, the deciding factor is how large the household shipment is. If there is a smaller shipment of household goods, it is more economical to move the furniture on one moving truck and the car on an auto transporter. To move your car and furniture on the same truck, you really need to buy the entire moving van. This makes perfect sense with a big order of household goods, but with a small order like yours, this would be too much space. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Sam R. in TX - Wednesday, March 16, 2016
My daughter is moving back to houston Texas from university of Virginia. Could u give me an estimate on moving her car and furniture. Would it be better to move her car on the same moving van with her furniture or not?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Sam, When you are only moving an apartment and a car, it is much cheaper for us to put the car on an auto transporter and put the furniture on the moving truck. The only time it makes economic sense to put the car and furniture on the same moving van is if you have a whole lot of furniture to move and are going to take the entire tractor trailer. Then you get a big discount on using the entire truck for your move. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Elizabeth C. in NJ - Thursday, March 10, 2016
I need to move a Nissan pick up, one dresser and queen-sized bed. Can I put bed and dresser in truck and ship that way? Need to go from red bank nj to Denver co.
MovingPlace Response
Hi Elizabeth, When moving a pickup truck and furniture, you cannot have anything inside the pickup. It would not be safe. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Haylie P. in MO - Wednesday, March 2, 2016
I'm moving from St.Louis to Arizona in about 3 months. About how much it will be moving my car and about 15 boxes, but no furniture.? How will the boxes be ship? Will it be different than my car?
MovingPlace Response
HI Haylie, We get this question a lot. If all you are moving is boxes, the best option is to ship the boxes via UPS ground and then let us move the car. If you want to move your car and furniture on the same moving truck, you have to order the entire moving truck and this is oftentimes not cost effective. We have some great options where we can move your furniture on one truck and your car on an auto transporter, at the same time, and save you a lot of money. Please give us a call at 800-876-6839 and we will give you some options for your move. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace
from Jenna P. in CA - Thursday, February 25, 2016
Hello, I will be moving from San Diego, CA to Detroit, MI in early March. I was wondering if I could get a quote to move my car (it's a Chevrolet Trailblazer year 2004 or 2005). Also, does the car have to be empty to transport or could I have some moving boxes in there? I just have some big boxes that I'll need to take with me, so I would rather keep my boxes in the car than have to ship them separately. I'll be moving into my first apartment so I basically just have some boxes with clothes and some kitchen items.
MovingPlace Response
Hi Jenna, We get this question a lot. For safety and security, the car must be empty when it is transported. If you just have boxes and no furniture to move, we recommend shipping boxes at the UPS store. If you have a house or apartment of furniture to ship as well as a car, we have great options for you. But, with just boxes, shipping UPS ground is going to be the fastest and cheapest way to do it. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Los T. in GA - Thursday, February 18, 2016
Hi I have a 1+ bedroom house and 1995 Honda Civic I am trying to move from El paso to Georgia. It's going to be Tv's, Kitchenware, Boxes of clothes and a king size mattress what would be my best option and best price?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Los, It would definitely be cheaper to move your furniture on a moving van and then let us move your car on an auto transporter. That will be the most inexpensive way to move your car and furniture at this time. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace
from Cristina V. in CT - Tuesday, February 16, 2016
Hello, I would like to move an 07 Hyundai Santa Fe and furniture for a 3 bedroom apartment from CT to Arizona. What would be my best option?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Cristina, I would suggest splitting this shipment. You should ship your car on one of our car transporters and your furniture on a moving truck. Unless you have a lot of stuff or 2 cars to ship, that is the most economical way to move your car and furniture. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from JOYA C. in OH - Tuesday, February 16, 2016
I'm moving to las vegas from cleveland oh with a two bedroom living area and dining with a 2013 Hyundai Elantra and a 2007 Maserati what will my cost be thanks in advance
MovingPlace Response
Hi Joya, When moving 2 cars and furniture, we can actually give you a quote for a full 53ft moving van. It is a little more expensive, but everything can ride on the same truck. It is also direct service, meaning that nothing else is loaded on the truck and the driver that picks it up is the driver that delivers. We will email the quote to you shortly. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from V M. in PA - Tuesday, February 9, 2016
I am thinking about moving from PA to AZ. I would need to move 2 cars (Ford Truck & Ford Fiesta) plus the household contents of a 2-bedroom home. What is the cost to move all this? What is the shipment time to move from PA to AZ. What if something happens to my vehicles or items are you insured and if so, what proof of insurance can you provide me? Thank you.
MovingPlace Response
Hi V, We can move your cars and furniture on the same truck, or we can ship the furniture on a moving van and put the cars on an auto transport. For moves across country, it can save you a lot of money if you ship the cars separately. We will be happy to quote it both ways. There are several different coverage options available and each has a different price (based on amount of coverage, deductibles, etc). Please give us a call at 800-876-6839 to discuss options and determine what is the best option for your move. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace
from jim P. in MA - Tuesday, January 26, 2016
I have a small pick-up, sedan, motorcycle and assorted boxes, not much furniture. I am moving from MA to FL, what would be the best method for transport?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Jim, Your best (cheapest) option would be to ship the boxes via UPS and let us ship your car, motorcycle, and pick up. To order a tractor trailer to move everything at the same time will double your cost. If you break them up, you will pay a lot less money and everything will still arrive at about the same time (which is the reason that you ship everything on the same truck in the first place!). Question to MovingPlace
from Briana L. in CA - Wednesday, December 30, 2015
Moving from Central Valley, California, to Charleston, South Carolina. I have a 2015 Ford Mustang and 2700 square foot house worth of stuff, what is the cheapest way to move?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Briana, With a house that large and a car to move, we might want to look at moving your car and furniture on the same moving van. We can rent you exclusive use of a 53ft tractor trailer that is fully equipped with moving equipment for your use. Moving everything on the same truck is the cheapest way to do it when you are have enough to warrant renting the entire moving van. If you only have a 1 bedroom apartment or a smaller shipment, you should split the move and send the furniture on one truck and the car on an auto transporter. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Dawn M. in WA - Sunday, December 27, 2015
I'm moving from Seattle, WA to Toronto, ON withing the next few weeks. I have a Toyota 4Runner and a few boxes that would completely fit in the back of the truck. Can I ship my items right in the truck? It will be kitchenware mainly. If you cannot ship to Canada or not to canada with items in the vehicle, I do have friends in Buffalo, NY where the vehicle can be shipped though to Toronto is my preference.
MovingPlace Response
Hi Dawn, When moving your car and furniture, the only way to put it all on the same moving truck is to use a full 53ft tractor trailer. When you are moving a lot of stuff, that is a great option. When you only have a small amount, it is best to split the shipment into a household goods shipment on a moving truck and a car shipment on an auto transporter. Any vehicle shipped on an auto transporter must be completely empty (for both safety and liability concerns). If you have only enough stuff to fit in your 4Runner, we recommend shipping that stuff UPS or USPS ground. That will be your cheapest option. We could then move your car for a great price. Question to MovingPlace

Hi, I am looking to move my car (Audi) and my personal belongings (not too much) capacity fit in a 12' UHAUL. Moving from Staten Island , NY to Boynton Beach, Fla. My question is, can I have both (my belongings and car) on same truck? And estimate$? Thank You
MovingPlace Response
Hi Stan, We can move your car and furniture on the same truck. However, it will be cheaper to put the car on one of our auto transporters and move the furniture in a moving truck. We will be happy to quote the move for you both ways so that you can compare pricing and determine whether or not it is worth the extra money to ship both the car and furniture on the same moving van. from JIM W. in NH - Thursday, December 17, 2015

MovingPlace Response
Hi Jim, We can help you move your car and furniture. If you will please fill out a quote request form, we will email pricing to you right away. Question to MovingPlace
from Maichi T. in AL - Wednesday, December 9, 2015
Hi, my husband and I are planning to move next Spring and was wondering do you guys ship furniture along with 2 cars a 2003 Mitsubishi montero and a 2004 Acura rsx together in one moving van?
MovingPlace Response
Yes Maichi, We can ship your cars and furniture on the same moving van. This is really efficient if you have a lot to move. Select "53ft Moving Van" when selecting the size on our quote form so we know that you are shipping a whole lot of stuff and a cars on the same moving van. If you are a customer reading this and you only have a room of furniture, you should not select that. Select one room of furniture and put the make and model of the car to be shipped in the comments. Small shipments cost a lot less when we ship the car separately from the furniture. Movingplace

I need to move my car, a Ford, Mustang and a few furniture items that are in a small storage locker, the items are a 42inch flat screen TV, a small 3 1/2 foot media center and some small miscellaneous household items. Question to MovingPlace
from Susan G. in IL - Tuesday, November 24, 2015
How do you secure a vehicle inside the trailer so as not to damage furniture. And how do you pay?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Susan, When moving a car and furniture on the same moving truck, the furniture goes in first at the front of the moving van. A bulkhead wall is put up to secure those goods in the trailer to keep them from moving around. The car goes on the back end of the moving van. It is loaded with a rollback wrecker and then the axles are secured using chains/straps that hook into the walls of the truck at floor level. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Lori C. in PA - Monday, November 9, 2015
Can you put furniture on a car transporter? Is it legal?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Lori, When moving a car and furniture, you have two options. To move the car and furniture on the same moving truck, you need to order a large tractor-trailer and have the car loaded into the moving van. If you have a smaller shipment, it is much more affordable to ship the furniture on the moving truck and then have the car shipped on the auto transporter. The auto transporters are for cars only. You cannot put anything inside the cars when shipping on an auto transport. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from ed s. in VA - Saturday, October 31, 2015
hi, i am planning on moving from arlington, va to santa monica, ca. I have one car and a bedroom(bed frame, mattress, dresser, night stand). how much will this cost?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Ed, There are a couple of variables that we should discuss in order to get you a good quote on moving your car and furniture. For smaller shipments like this, it usually makes the most sense to move the furniture on a moving van and move the car on an auto transporter. If you call our office at 800-876-6839, we can give you some different pricing options. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from bartev t. in CA - Thursday, October 8, 2015
Can I move a car and a few pieces of furniture in the SAME Container. I know a car can be transported and furniture can be moved BUT my question is can I have them both in the same container or pod which I would fill up with the car and furniture and you move it to Florida?
MovingPlace Response
Yes Bartev, We can accommodate moving the car and furniture on the same moving truck, however, you have to order the entire moving van to do so (for liability purposes). So, if you have a lot of stuff to moving along with your car, this is the most cost-effective way to do it. If you only have a small amount of stuff and a car to move, you should split the shipment in two for the most cost-effective way to move. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace
from Naga K. in TX - Friday, August 7, 2015
Hi, I am moving from San Antonio to Merrimack,NH in about 3 weeks (Exact date is still not confirmed). I would like to move my car (Toyota Camry) and entire house (4 bed room). Would we be able to move my car and furniture in same truck, so the cost of moving is less. What would be the approximate cost? Thanks Naga
MovingPlace Response
Hi Naga, We have some excellent options for moving an entire house and your car. For this service, we recommend ordering and entire 53ft moving van. That is an upgraded service that will give you the logistics equipment that you need to secure your household goods in the front of the moving van and put your car on the back of it. The car would travel inside the moving van in this case. For others that may be reading this, if you only have a small amount of furniture, let us quote you for the furniture on a moving truck and the car on a car carrier (shipped separately). That is the most economical way to ship a small amount of furniture and a car. Movingplace.

Yes Sonja, As I mentioned to the previous poster, we would recommend moving the cars on one of our auto transporters and moving the furniture on one of the moving vans. Question to MovingPlace
from Catherine D. in AL - Saturday, February 28, 2015
How much will it cost to move a 2001 GMC Jimmy, a chair, and boxes from San Francisco, Ca to Birmingham, Al
MovingPlace Response
We have a couple of great options for moving your car and furniture. The best way to save money for the shipment that you have listed is to have us put the car on one of the auto transporters (those big trucks that haul 8 or 9 cars at one time) and ship the rest of the items on a moving van. If you will fill out the quote request form, select the smallest size shipment and put the make and model of your car to ship in the comments box. One of our relocation specialists will email a price to you asap. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace
from Julie B. in TX - Saturday, February 14, 2015
I have a small car and some furniture that I will need to move from Texas to California in a few months. Will I need to make arrangements to have the moving van loaded and unloaded or can your company do that in addition to driving to the new location?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Julie, Correct, you provide the loading and unloading, we provide the moving truck, fuel, driver, and door-to-door transport. When we move your car on an auto transporter, you just hand the driver the keys and he does the loading and unloading of the car. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace
from Jayson D. in KS - Wednesday, October 8, 2014
I am trying to ship two cars and household items and furnitures. Is it possible to ship at one shipping truck?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Jayson, Yes, you can ship two cars and household items on on truck. In order to do that, you will need to rent an entire 53ft moving van. If you don't need that much space, we can also rent space for the furniture on a smaller truck and then ship the cars on an auto transporter. Either way, we can provide you an economical way to move your cars and furniture. Movingplace
Question to MovingPlace
from Savita M. in AR - Monday, September 22, 2014
Hello, I need to move a car and furniture to Corvallis, Oregon from Arkansas. Can I move it on the same truck? Please give me a quote Thanks
MovingPlace Response
Hi Savita, We get this question a lot. Yes, you can move your car and furniture on the same truck. The only caveat to that is that you have to rent the entire moving van to do so. If you have a small shipment of furniture, it makes a lot more financial sense to have us ship the car on a car transporter and then ship the household goods on a moving van. We will be happy to price the move for you both way to help you make the best financial and logistical decision for your move. Moving Place Web Team

Question to MovingPlace
from Melanie C. in CA - Wednesday, September 10, 2014
do you have a vehicle/trailer, that I can load a small car and a sm house of furniture and have it moved together?
MovingPlace Response
Hi Melanie, If you want to ship your car and furniture on the same moving van, the only option is to rent a full-sized tractor trailer. If you have a large home, that is the best financial option. For a small amount of furniture, the most inexpensive way to ship that and a car is to split the shipment and send the car on an auto transporter (the big trucks that carry 8 or 9 vehicles at a time) and the furniture on a smaller moving van. We can price this both ways for you to compare and decide what is best for your situation. Please give us a call at 800-876-6839 and we would be happy to help. Movingplace

Hi, I need to transfer my toyota corolla 2004 car and 6 boxes from rochester, NY to Austin,Texas. Can you let me know if you transfer both together. Also, how much will it cost

Hi Kumar, We can help you with moving your car and furniture. Most of the time, it makes the most sense to ship the car on a car transporter (those big moving trucks that hold 8 or 9 cars) and have the furniture shipped on the moving van. If you would please fill out the quote form at the top of this page, we will quickly email you a quote. Thanks! MovingPlace

MovingPlace Response
Hi Sabina, Please see the last question that we answered in the forum. Yes, we can ship your car and furniture at the same time. That being said, it is more economical to move your car on a car transporter and let us move the furniture on a small space on one of the moving trucks. If you call us at 800-876-6839, one of our relocation specialists can quickly assist you with pricing for all of this. Movingplace

Hi, I am moving a car from So Cal to MN. I need to ship a 2003 Ford Escape and some personal items. I have no furniture and all personal items can fit in the car leaving an unobstructed view so I would like to pack the things inside. Is this something you can do? Thanks!

Question to MovingPlace
from Summer C. in FL - Wednesday, July 11, 2012
I have a car that I want to move on the same moving truck as my furniture. It is a Nissan Maxima. how does that work?
MovingPlace Response
Most of the moving trucks have loading ramps that are designed to hold cars. Moving your car on the same truck with your furniture is as easy as driving it up the car ramps into the truck. If your car does not have good clearance, or if it is too heavy for the ramps, you can have a rollback wrecker come and load and unload the car for you. Many people opt to do this for safety reasons also. The cost of the wrecker is usually about $75 and is not included in the cost of your move.
Question to MovingPlace
from Lisa T. in FL - Wednesday, May 23, 2012
I am looking at renting a truck from FL to OH, but I don't want to pull my car behind the rental truck. What options do you have?
MovingPlace Response
You might want to look into self-service moving. Many of those companies will allow you to ship you car with your furniture. You load your stuff onto the moving van and then your car gets shipped on the same moving truck in a separate compartment.
