Movingplace blends the convenience of full service moving with the value of a rental truck. You load, we drive, you save. Movingplace LLC, (License #MC807665) will arrange for a moving truck to come to your home. In most service locations, that moving van will be equipped with a loading ramp (to easily access the moving truck), a bulkhead wall (to safely separate your goods from any others on the truck), and a dolly. You Load. We Drive to your new home where you unload. There are options to have up to 3 days for loading and 3 days for unloading. Question to MovingPlace

from Natalie A. in MN - Tuesday, August 6, 2019

I have my household belongings in a storage facility at this time. Will there be any problem with getting a truck in there to load it? I had a moving company move my things there whoever it wasn't a semitrailer but it was a bigger moving truck, we have a 2 bedroom home. I'm just concerned about there being enough room for them to get in and turned around, backed up etc... How big are the trucks? Thank you. Sincerely, Natalie Anderson

MovingPlace Response

Hi Natalie, Great questions. Our trucks are 8 feet wide, 9 feet tall, and 28 feet long. You actually need 13 feet of vertical clearance (accounting that the trucks are up on wheels!). It would be best for you to call the storage facility and tell them that you have a "Pup" trailer coming and confirm that they have enough room to accommodate it. We can get into most facilities as they are designed for people to be able to move in and out of them with moving trucks. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Sandy P. in CA - Tuesday, August 6, 2019

I have a small load approximately 12 banker boxes that need to go to Tacoma Washington area How can that be accomplished ?

MovingPlace Response

Hi Sandy, We are not the right choice if you are only shipping a few boxes. Our smallest shipment is 4 feet x 8 feet x 9 feet on a moving truck... so we would be overkill for what you are moving. Our suggestion if you are only shipping boxes is to call UPS or another package shipping company. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Carla J. in KY - Tuesday, August 6, 2019

I am needing a price and how much space I will need. it is a 10x12 storage unit full. I am needing to move from KY to Washington state. No really big furniture. only big thing is a kitchen table. But it’s apart. Rest is boxes and a rocking chair.

MovingPlace Response

Hi Carla, There are a couple of ways to figure this out. Our trucks are 8 feet wide, 9 feet tall, and 28 feet long. We break them down into smaller compartments using mobile walls (called bulkheads). The best thing to do is let us help you figure out the same amount of space that you have in the 10 x 12 storage unit and get you the same amount of space on our truck. Movingplace

Question to MovingPlace

from Linda Redder L. in SD - Monday, June 17, 2019

When you say 6 feet what is exactly is the dimension? What If you need more space when you are loading

MovingPlace Response

Hi Linda, All of the moving trucks are 8 feet wide an d9 feet tall. When we quote your shipment, we are quoting on the only variable, which is the length of space that you use inside the truck. So when we are quoting a 6 foot shipment, we mean 6ft x 8ft x 9ft (L x W x H). If you needed a 10 foot quote, it would be 10ft x 8ft x 9ft ... and so on. If you need extra space on loading day, you can certainly use it if you need it. When you book your move, your move coordinator will tell you in advance (and put on your order) what extra space will cost if you need it. There are no surprises or "gotchas" in our pricing.
